A bath in a Jacuzzi tub can be a soothing experience to help comfort the senses and calm the nerves. Whether it is relief from pain or freedom from stress - the Jacuzzi is a solution to your problems. This article throws light on Jacuzzi bathtubs and their therapeutic effect. Read on to find out more about Jacuzzi spas.

Jacuzzi

A Jacuzzi offers the whirl pooling effect of warm water in a bathtub or swimming pool. It was invented by an American engineer of Italian origin -- Candido Jacuzzi. Jacuzzis are popular for recreational and health reasons. The whirlpooling action of water in this luxury product can be attributed to a pump, adequate piping and water jets fitted into the tub. All the three components function in a cyclical manner - the pump mobilizes the water and it is delivered through the pipes and finally the small jets. The water jets have an inbuilt mechanism, which permit the flow of both water and air at the same time. The amount of air flowing through the water jets can be adjusted to individual requirements. The circulating air produces bubbles that flow through the tub and produce a soothing effect when they come into contact with the person in the tub. This product helps increase blood circulation by stimulating the nerve endings below the skin. The increased circulation to problem areas of the body can help ease inflammation and diffuse muscle-bound toxins. But those suffering from circulatory problems or heart ailments must use Jacuzzi products after consulting the physician.

Jacuzzi Tub / Bathtub

Jacuzzi tubs occur as either standard versions (like ordinary bath tubs) or sink-in versions. The standard versions of Jacuzzi bathtubs can be fitted in most bathrooms and do not require any extra space. The Jacuzzi mechanism with a shower provision can be easily fitted in. The sink-in version of these bathtubs can be fitted against the wall of the bathroom or right in the middle. It is a more lavish investment and allows the user to enjoy a more comfortable, stress-relieving bathing experience by simply sinking into a larger tub. Such a bathtub comes in a variety of shapes and sizes and prices depending on the materials used in the manufacture. Some Jacuzzi bathtubs create a cross-flow pattern whereas others have side jets for creating the whirlpool effect. You can also go in for customized Jacuzzi whirlpool bath tubs with special jets to target common problem areas such as neck, lower back and knees.

Jacuzzi Pump / Jets

The Jacuzzi pump can be described as the heart of the Jacuzzi mechanism and comes in different speeds and induction of air. The more expensive varieties of pumps come with adjustable speeds. The advantage of the former is that they can be adjusted to control the speed of flow of water for a more customized recreational experience. Jacuzzi pumps come in different ranges of horsepower with adjustable temperature and water flow controls

Brush-style motors are regularly used in most Jacuzzis. But these motors have shorter service life and are noisy. Induction motors are longer lasting and quiet. Multi-speed induction motors allows you to gain control over the speed and volume of water motion. Other add-on features that are available on Jacuzzi pumps for better prices are: run-dry mechanism and the spin-flee mechanism. The run-dry mechanism keeps the motor from burning out if the tub is emptied of water. The safety feature of the spin-flee mechanism disengages the pump in the event a bather’s long hair gets caught into the suction fitting. Jacuzzi pumps and motors range from 1 to 3 horsepower and vary from different tub sizes and jet configurations. Other safety features include air switches to keep you out of contact with the low-voltage current. The Jacuzzi jets come in various models too. These jets help create the whirl pooling effect that characterizes Jacuzzis.

Eyeball jets – High pressure and low volume flow that allows customized direction of flow as well as amount of air.

Directional jets – This type of jets are a larger version of eyeball jets and are sometimes used in combination with them.

Rotating jets – These types of jets have angled nozzles that are positioned off-center. This allows the water flowing through the jets to flutter thereby creating a pulsating flow that is aimed at all directions.
