The length of the lacrosse field is divided into two by a centerline. The crease is an 18 feet diameter circle drawn around each goal. The goal area is a rectangular area surrounding each goal. The crosse or lacrosse stick can vary from 40 to 72 inches in length and is generally made of wood, plastics, aluminum or titanium. A lacrosse game lasts a regulation playing time of 60 minutes that is divided into four 15-minute periods. In the event of a tie, two periods of 4 minutes each is played. An umpire and referee ensure that the game is played in accordance with the lacrosse rule and the decision of the referee is final.
