Famous Nascar Drivers - Kurt Busch - Greg Biffle - Jeff Burton

Kurt Busch

Kurt Busch was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 4th, 1978, and began his racing car career at the age of 14. By the time he was 15, he had made a career in the Dwarf Car Series in Las Vegas. In 1994, he became the Nevada rookie of the year, and in the year 1995 he became the series champion. During 1998, Busch became the rookie of the year in the Southwest Touring Series and the next year, he took the series title. During the 2000 Craftsman Truck Series, Busch captured four checkered flags and finished second in the championship standings. Kurt Busch received his first Cup victory in the year 2002 at the spring race at Bristol. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Kurt Busch rides a Ford, sponsored by the Sharpie/IR WIN Industrial Tools.

Greg Biffle

Greg Biffle is a top-notch NASCAR driver who has exhibited exemplary performance since the beginning of his career. He was born in December 23, 1969 at Vancouver, Washington. Years 1995 and 1996 brought him his initial recognition as a race driver when he dominated the Tucson Raceway Park's Winter Heat Series for Late Model stock cars. During 1997, Biffle competed in the Craftsman Truck Series and earned himself the rookie record for Bud Pole Awards. Biffle has won the 2000 Truck championship driving in the Craftsman Truck Series, he also won the 2001 Raybestos Rookie of the Year Award in Busch. Biffle is the first driver to win both the Truck and the Busch titles. He exhibited impressive performance during the Busch Series, with five winnings and two Bud Poles, 16 top-five and 21 top-ten finishes. Since graduating to the Cup Series in the year 2003, Greg has won the Pepsi 400 at Daytona and has made three top five and six top ten finishes.

Jeff Burton

Jeff Burton is one of top NASCAR drivers who began his racing career with go-karts at South Boston Speedway, at the age of 17. He has an impressive winning record of 21 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series, 4 Bush Series and 17 career victories in the Winston Cup. He has posted 15 top-fives and three poles in five seasons of the Bush Series. Burton graduated to the Cup Series in the year 1993. In 1994 he earned the Rookie of the year honor. It was during the 2000 season that Burton exhibited outstanding performance. He finished third in points, with 15 top-five finishes. During the 2004 Nextel Culp Series, Jeff Burton drives a Ford and is sponsored by the Roush Racing team.

Todd Bodine

Todd Bodine was born in February 27th, 1964, in Chemung, New York. He started his racing career in Modifieds in Connecticut. He began his first career cup race in the year 1992. The Busch Series is his best racing success. He finished third in 1996 and second in 1997, with 13 career Bush Series victories at Dover, Del. During 1997, Bodine won his first WCS Bud Pole, in his hometown race at Watkins Glen International for Cicci-Welliver Racing. Bodine drove part time during the Winston Cup Series in 2002. Here he scored four top-10 finishes among 24 starts and came as 38th in the Winston Cup standings. In the 2004 Nextel Cup, Todd Bodine drives a Ford and is sponsored by the Lucas Oil Products.

Ward Burton

Ward Burton was born in South Boston, on 25th October 1961. He began go-karting at the age of eight and raced on the Virginia Karting Association till the age of 16. He commenced his First Career Cup race in 1994 and was voted the most popular driver of South Boston in 1989. In 1990, Burton entered the Bush Series. By 23, he had earned three top-10 finishes. Burton competed in Winston Cup for rookie of the year in 1994 and finished second to Joe Nemechek. For the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Ward Burton rides a Chevrolet, sponsored by NetZero HiSpeed.

Derrike Cope

Derrike Cope was born in Spanaway, Washington, on 3rd November 1956. His first Career Winston Cup race was in 1982. His best Championship finish came in 1995, when he finished 15th in the races. During 1984 Cope made two wins in the Winston West Series and was named rookie of the year. In 1990s, Daytona 500 races Derrike leaded in 155 out of 200 laps and scored the biggest win of his career. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Derrike drives a Dodge, sponsored by the Arnold Development Companies.

Ricky Craven

Ricky Carven was born on May 24, 1966 at Newburgh, Maine. He entered the NASCAR series of races in 1982 through the Unity Raceway in Unity, Maine. In 1983, he posted 12 victories in the track championship and was declared the rookie of the year. In 1984, at Wiscasset Speedway he won the rookie of the year, and during the ACT tour in 1988 he finished fourth. 1991 was an important year for Carven with 10 victories, six poles, and the pole award and the most popular driver trophy. In the 2003 Cup Series, Carven recorded the closest finish in NASCAR, when he beat Kurt Busch by .002 seconds. For the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Ricky Craven is sponsored by Tide and rides a Chevrolet.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, on October 10, 1974, Dale Earnhardt Jr. began his driving career at the age of 17 at the Street Stock division at Concord (N.C.) Motorsport Park. The 1978 Monte Carlo was his first race. Within two seasons of professional racing, Earnhardt joined the Late Model Stock Car division. Dale entered the NASCAR's elite series in the year 2000, he also scored a 42-point victory at the rookie race. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Dale rides a Chevrolet and is being sponsored by the Budweiser.

Brendan Gaughan

Brendan Gaughan was born on July 10th 1975, in Las Vegas, Nevada. His first career Craftsman Track race was in the year 1997. In 2004, Brendan Gaughan played his first Career Nextel Cup Series race. In the year 2000, Gaughan entered the Winston West Championship. He scored his first NCTS win at the Texas Motor Speedway in June, and in 2003 he won the Championship, winning 6 times in 25 starts and finishing fourth in the series title race. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Brendan rides a Dodge and is being sponsored by the Kodak EasyShare. In the Bristol Motor Speedway he finished in the 2nd position which was held in Aug, 2007.

Jeff Gordon

Jeff Gordon was born in Vallejo, California on 4th August 1971. He began his first Career Cup race in the year 1994 and has made a total of 64 career cup wins and 46 Career cup poles. During his 15 years of driving in the open wheel competition, he has logged more than 600 victories. During the 1970s and early 1980s he has won three national Quarter-Midget championships and four national karting Championships. He was the USAC's youngest driver when he received his race driver's license on his 16th birthday. In the year 1995 he won his first Winston Cup title, and has not finished outside the top 10 in points since 1993. He has won four Winston cup titles in all, winning the fourth one in 1993. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series Jeff is riding a Chevrolet and is being sponsored by DuPont.

Robby Gordon

Robby Gordon was born in Cerritos, California, on 2nd January 1969. He entered his first Career Cup race in the year 1991 and has by far a credit of 3 career cup wins and 1 career cup poles. Gordon formed his own Winston Cup team in 2000 and participated in 17 races and finished at 43rd position in overall standings. His best Championship finish was in the year 2002, when he finished as the 20th. The 2002 Winston Cup was his first full season where he achieved five top-10 finish at the Phoenix. He ended the season with a victory at New Hampshire. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Robby Gordon is sponsored by Cingular Wireless and is riding a Chevrolet.

Jeff Green

Jeff Green was born in Owensboro on 6th September 1962. His first career cup race was in the year 1994. His best Championship finish was in the year 2002 in which he finished at the 17th position. He has a credit of two career cup poles. Green took over the driving duties of the No.1 Pennzoil Chevrolet on an interim basis, starting with the 2003 Winston Open at Love's Motor Speedway. He has won the Bud Pole Award for Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor speedway. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Jeff Green is sponsored by Cheerios/Betty Crocker and will be riding a Dodge.

Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick was born in Bakersfield, California, on 8th December 1975. He started his first career Cup race in the year 2001 and has totally four career cup wins and two career cup poles. Kevin began go-karts at the age of five. He has won seven national titles and two International Grand National Championships. In 1993, he won the late model title at Mesa Marin Raceway, and was the rookie of the year at the Featherlite Southwest Series. During 2001, Harvick won the Winston Cup Raybestos Rookie of the year Award. In 2002, Harvick finished 21st in race standings. In the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Kevin Harvick is sponsored by GM Goodwrench and is riding a Chevrolet.

Dale Jarrett

Dale Jarrett was born in Hickory, on 26th November 1956. His first career cup race was in the year 1984. He has made totally 31 career cup wins and 15 career cup poles. His best Championship finish was when he finished first in the year 1999. Dale began racing in the year 1977 in the Limited Sportsman Division at the Hickory Motor Speedway. In 1984 he started his Winston Cup career with the Busch series. Jarrett won twice in the year 2002, and performed exceedingly well at Michigan in August the same year. During the 2004 Nextel Cup Series, Dale Jarrett is sponsored by UPS and is riding a Ford.
