There are four standard setups to choose from:
- Terrestrial Tank – ideal for frogs and toads preferring dry climate.
- Aquatic Tank – for aquatic frogs
- Half and Half Tank – a half water and half land set up
- Arboreal Tank – long tanks designed for tree frogs

- Size of tank should be determined depending on type and number of frogs.
- Refrain from using bright lighting. A small fluorescent lighting will do.

- Use gravel and other nice stones for flooring. You can also mix in a small amount of common potting soil.
- It is advisable to use moss to cover your tank flooring.
- Find good covering for your tank. A two-fold covering is ideal as it prevents your pet from escaping.
