PGA Championship
Excdeeing the expectations Tiger Woods captured the PGA championship of 2007 held in Southern Hills. Oakland Hills of suburban Detroit get ready for the 2008 championship.
The PGA Championship has 149 players competing for the $ 8 million prize that can be won by a golfer who dominates the PGA tour. The Stadium Course at the TPC at Sawgrass is the venue for severe competition among the top golfers as this is the first major test of the year with the PGA Masters just round the corner. Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson are in good form. Masters champion Mike Weir and Ernie Els are in the running too. Adam Scott, Kevin Sutherland and Duffy Waldorf are also scorching the courses with their performances. This tournament is the final stage for players who have not already qualified for the Masters PGA. John Daly has the spotlight on him right now. Daly is at the ninth position on the money list and 53rd in the world ranking. His triple bogey at Bay Hill cost him the coveted spot at the Augusta National. If he gets passed by on the money list, John Daly would need to win at least the 19th spot at the Players Championship PGA so as to move into the top 50 list.

Senior PGA Tour
The senior PGA tour will be held from May 26 - 30 2004 at Louisville in Kentucky. This year the senior PGA tour will expand to 156 players. Players who are 50 years and older will compete in the senior PGA tour. The legendary golfer Bobby Jones spearheaded this senior PGA tour in 1937. With legendary greats such as Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Gary Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Raymond Floyd and Tom Watson as past champions, the senior PGA tour attracted 30 contestants from 12 countries in 2003.
PGA Masters
The PGA masters will be held between April 5 and 11 2004 at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. The Masters tournament conducted by the PGA was created by Clifford Roberts and Bobby Jones. With its beginnings in 1934, the PGA masters tournament has become synonymous with lack of commercialization and azalea-draped scenery. The venue for the PGA masters this year is famous for the 'Amen Corner' - a set of 3 holes that can decide a winner. Mike Weir of Canada won the 2003 PGA masters tournament.
Championship PGA Volvo
The Championship PGA Volvo will be held in Wentworth Club. The last 4 days of May 2004 will see the PGA Volvo Championship in full swing on the European circuit. The prize money of € 3, 75, 000 is an increase of €250,000 on last year's figures. Current winner of championship PGA Volvo Order of Merit Ernie Els of South Africa and Vijay Singh of Fiji are currently ranked third and second in the world. The inaugural Championship PGA Volvo was held in 1988 and had a prize money of €420,000.
